The PCU is the heart of the Boilerwatch® MMP system. It provides all control, processing, I/O and data storage functions necessary to obtain and store path temperature measurements. Contained in a rugged NEMA-4 welded steel wall-mount enclosure, the PCU features capacity for up to 8 independent temperature paths or up to 24 paths in a spatial temperature mapping array.MMP PCU Measurement results for all paths are communicated to an external PC with TMS-2000 software via a serial port. The basic MMP PCU provides eight analog 4-20 ma output channels for path temperature data, and the analog outputs are expandable up to a total of 24 channels with two optional 8-channel plug-in cards. System operation is controlled by an embedded microcomputer and ROM resident software. MMP System Manager Software running on an external PC communicates with the PCU’s internal microcomputer on an RS-232 serial port for system setup, maintenance, and diagnostics.

The PCU is typically installed in an electronic equipment room, and operates unattended. All system settings are stored in non-volatile EEPROM memory, which allows automatic system restart in the event AC power is interrupted. With the optional modem connected to a phone line, the MMP PCU can be assessed from most anywhere.
