What‘s New from SEI

Current Testing

SEI will be installing a passivePDVSA Isla Refinery acoustic pyrometer in a sulfur recovery unit at PDVSA-Refineria Isla N.V at Willemstad Curaçao (PDVSA). This two path system is expected to start operation in November 2004 and provide the refinery with non-intrusive continuous gas temperature measurement. For further information on the passive acoustic technology see paper 800670.

SEI and PDVSA are continuing testing a Boilerwatch® MMP unit on a crude distillation unit and a platformer at PDVSA‘s Curaçao refinery. The testing at PDVSA involves adjustments to burners on operating units to test the Boilerwatch® SP, the Boilerwatch® MMP as well as new features to our TMS-2000 mapping software. PDSVA is Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., Caracas-Venezuela. See www.pdvsa.com for more information about PDVSA.

Recently Completed Testing

SEI has successfully completed testing of a Boilerwatch® SP single and dual path gas temperature unit on a Hydrogen Reformer and a Delayed Coker at the El Paso Energy, Coastal Aruba Refining Co. NV. The tests have showed that SEI‘s equipment provided accurate continuous real time gas temperature data. Individual test reports for both the hydrogen reformer and delayed coker are available for download. Testing has continued at Aruba on a second delayed coker. This second coker test is on a unit that experiences feed fluctuations based on refinery load.
